For this position based in Mariehamn, the focus is on providing our existing and potential new clients with the best possible cover for their vessels. With Hull & Machinery and Protection & Indemnity insurance being the core of our offering, we also provide a number of additional insurance covers that a ship owner or operator need. We also provide a range of other products suitable for operations related to the shipping industry. Alandia is very active in the Nordic countries as well as in international markets with visits to clients, brokers and other co-operation partners so the position includes a fair amount of travelling. Marketing events and seminars are important features in order to further strengthen Alandia’s position in the respective markets.
We are looking for a team player to join an efficient team of underwriters at Alandia’s head office in Mariehamn. Close co-operation with the claims and business support departments is crucial in order to deliver the best possible service to clients. In shipping, the conditions constantly change so flexibility and ability to handle heavy work load are important qualities. Besides Scandinavian, English is an important language to handle in an excellent way since we also work towards markets outside the Nordics to some extent and much of the insurance documentation is issued in English. Marine insurance is a knowledge intensive work field so we encourage and support continuous knowledge enhancements.
